S..."How would that affect me in any way?" Seriously? You do not comprehend how a secular government's view and support of "marriage" can affect the rest of our society in a terribly negative way?
We believers live by God's laws. He has taught us that homosexuality is "An abomination in His sight." You can choose to disbelieve this, that is why He gave you moral agency. But disbelieving it does not make it untrue, it just means you have chosen to not believe God.
Forcing our children and grandchildren to be exposed to and indoctrinated in this secular idea undermines our teachings and their ability to clearly see both sides of the issue. It is clear that this is what you want, for the rising generation to have no influence from religious parents and teachers. So at least be honest in your motives instead of pretending altruistic reasons. You want to take away all ideas that differ from your own.
My obvious question is: "What are you afraid of?" Afraid that good, decent individuals might actually come to the conclusion that God, not man, knows what is best for society?fille de lumierenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7452499613821398193.post-62391617584672771652013-04-17T04:59:50.954-04:002013-04-17T04:59:50.954-04:00First off, For all the hateful people and comments... First off, For all the hateful people and comments that will be here for sure.I don't get any of this. Most religious people believe that marriage is between a man and a woman and what does it matter what the state you live in thinks, because your marriage is sanctified by god, according to your beliefs. A "gay marriage" would be a marriage recognized by the state, And not by god in your estimation. So how would that affect you in any way?
So if the state only recognized gay marriages and outlawed marriage by a man and a woman wouldn't you still feel that your union was recognized by your god? I mean why so much weight on what your state thinks? also i think i have different copy of the book you all love to twist and misquote, Mine says "judge not lest ye be judged". So i feel what goes on between two consenting adults has no bearing on my life at all and should be none of my concern,It is between them and god.
Also since god makes no mistakes, I will let you know that i work with children in a school setting and we can tell when a child is very young (4 and 5 year old) That they are gay and find that at high school age the ones we knew were, "come out". So they are born that way, So since god does not make mistakes, they are loved by him and made in his image. I'm sure you don't feel this is true but ask a older teacher in a public school.
Oh and my copy also says "love thy neighbor" so i do and i "judge not" So i have not missed out on having a bunch of friends of all ethnicity's,sexual orientations, and religions and i think Jesus would be pretty proud of that because i feel he would do the same.
Even if you think it is all bull, and people are making a choice to be gay. Then you being hateful and nasty would not make anyone want to change. So try opening your mind and act like an adult and maybe you'll just find that you have a lot less stress in your life and you can fix your own shortcomings when you quit getting involved in things that you shouldn't be. There are plenty of real issues we all should be involved in.
Thank you Essel Pratt for this blog and your time, and a space for my ramblings here.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7452499613821398193.post-19961836977821134372013-04-01T09:23:21.435-04:002013-04-01T09:23:21.435-04:00lol, says the person that posted anonymously... W...lol, says the person that posted anonymously... Whether you believe or not, he has some good points.

Since you seem to be a jesus juice drinker, I have a question. People are upset that the pope allowed 2 girls to wash his feet. Are they afraid that this pope might actually enjoy the company of women instead of little boys? I also have to ask why so many followers of the church are afraid of gay marriage, when so many men of the cloth have anal sex with young boys? Is it okay to have anal intercourse as long as there is no desire to marry?Travis Sendeckinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7452499613821398193.post-37324539075927840662013-04-01T01:53:20.018-04:002013-04-01T01:53:20.018-04:00Your entire blog post is bunk.
